With some of the plaster board on in the wet areas I've been able to stuff the other side with straw and finish more walls, such as the the en suite / master bedroom wall. The list of walls still requiring attention before the 2nd coat is shrinking and even better, most walls now have their first coat on. Today, Angela and then Brenton came to help and rendered the remaining parts of the bathroom and most satisfyingly, the large expanse of wall between the lounge and the master bedroom on both sides. Not only are these two great company but they are a dab hand at rendering. So things are really coming along on the inside, soon I'll need to concentrate more on the exterior.

It's been a while since I had a proper day off, but at the moment that doesn't seem as important as getting things done. Sometimes a morning off is as good as a whole day. We do feel like we are living a very busy life right now so I do make sure that I stop during the day and admire the view and appreciate the place we are shortly to be living in. It's a strange mix of peace and excitement when I do that.

We passed another big milestone yesterday, we signed off on an order for our windows. It's an expensive business but after extensive to-ing and fro-ing we've settled for a manufacturer and a set of details that will really work for us. Now we just need to wait. Windows are important to get right and I'm really confident that we've made great decisions. 

We are looking forward to moving in when we have done enough to pass our certificate of occupancy but it seems that we already have some tenants - a large family of mice that I disturbed when moving bales today. They looked unimpressed with being disturbed, but I think that they'll really be annoyed when the bales are cleared out of the house. Damn freeloaders! I considered giving them a good talking to, but they looked like foreign mice and wouldn't understand me anyway.
