Work has been going at a slower rate than usual this week. The temperature has been going into the 30s since about Friday and it looks like continuing for a few days yet. Apart from sapping my energy levels and making outside work a very hot and sweaty business, any rendering I try to do is a race against the render drying before I get a chance to trowel it.
Making things more difficult is the temperature we're experiencing at home. When it heats up, no cool change (not that we've had one yet) seems to bring the temperature down. So we've been sleeping downstairs on the floor. It's still warm down there, but 5 degrees can make all the difference. So it's a catch 22 at the moment: heat has me dream about living in the newly built house but slows down work on the house. However, it's really not that far off in the grand scheme of things. And we have another rendering day coming up this Sunday, a rendering bonanza to get the 3rd coat done on the inside, so I'm doing all the prep I can for that this week. One thing's for sure, the beer tastes mighty good at the end of the day.
