We have tried to do everything ourselves that we are legally allowed to do on our build. But we've got to a stage where it really helps to pay some professionals to accelerate our progress (Natasha is 10 days from her due date and our mortgage is looking very pregnant too). Steve and Shaun from Cullen Roofing started work yesterday on our eaves lining and have been doing a great job over the last two days. Especially considering that the temperature reached 38˚ this afternoon.Eaves_Lining.jpg

The job they are doing looks great, way better and faster than I could possibly do. So despite my reluctance I must admit I am relieved to get that happening. It sets me up to do the ceilings, given that the house is now mostly sealed up at the tops of the walls. Once they have finished, we will finish the seal with some cob and the house will be one step more heat, wind and fire proofed. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the year (tomorrow).

I've been putting in ceiling insulation today as well as cleaning up inside and out. It's easier to think in a clear space so although it's time consuming it is certainly worth it.

More hot weather is coming tomorrow and after a morning's work we'll spend the later part of the afternoon driving (with air-conditioning thankfully) out to the other side of town to get a newly purchased second-hand door from eBay. That will plug up our north facing door space, otherwise known as a back door. Nearly at some kind of lock up!
