I have been on our build on many a freezing cold day, so I felt quite well prepared this morning when I was getting dressed:
Singlet - check
Long t-shirt - check
Long thermal top - check
Another long top - check
Fav additional long top - check
Vest - check
Warm jacket - check
Thermal pants - check
Jeans - check
Extra long socks - check
Two woollen beanies - check
Long woollen scarf - check
But was I wrong! Today was icy - and so
so so windy. Even inside the house out of the wind (well kind of), I was
cold. My lower back pain has kept me from being as active as I would
like, so I was moving around less than normal, but Peter
and Ivan were also feeling the cold, so I don't feel like such a woose.
Peter and Ivan have been a great team (per usual) and have been gaining some ground on our long list on the "mission to get everything ready for our pump rendering" on October 10th. It's pretty time consuming, but also quite exciting, as we are preparing the shape of the areas above windows and doors, to get that lovely rounded feel that straw bale houses can give.
We are keeping a close eye on our master plan and how we are tracking, and its so far-so good. I have been eagerly checking on all the test rendering I did yesterday, but it hasn't completely dried yet, and I'm not sure I really know what I am looking for in terms of what a really good render should look like. Time will tell!
So tomorrow is another day and I am planning to wear 2 pairs of socks, and an extra jacket - even if I do feel quite constricted by all the layers - it's better than being cold!
