There's a kids book called "How Tom Beat Captain Najork and His Hired Sportsmen" in which Tom, the hero, does a lot of fooling around and teetering in high places.  Walking around on the joists has felt decidedly teetery, and at times I have been bathed in teeterescence.  This effect diminishes with each nogging we install and the joist installation takes on a new stability.  Which means walking around is much less precarious and I'm not really too sad about that.  When the wind gusts, which is most of the time, teetering loses it's shine.

I've got at least another day left of noggings and then I'm looking forward to preparing the structure for flooring.  I have been doing some research on sub floor insulation and the thought of breathing in fibreglass fibres covered in formaldehyde isn't too appealing, so we'll spend a little more on a product called GreenStuf, made from recycled plastic bottles. Insulating the sub floor is necessary for us to get a 5 star energy rating, which in turn is a requirement for building a new home.  In case you're wondering, yes, it is green and we will stuff it.  Cool!  So while we're installing the flooring I'll be Batt man.  Unfortunately I don't think this means I can get Natasha to dress up like Catwoman.

It was nice today to be able to work a 9-5 day without the heat being too oppressive.  The heatwave is over, but we're still dealing with 30 degrees plus days.  I must be getting used to the climate out on our block.

Spider news!  I spoke too soon about the lack of Redback.  There was one lurking around on a nogging I was fitting today, it's still there I can tell you.  It's a Deadback now.  The fact that it was there at all suggests that Mr Huntsman has not being doing his job of clearing out other beasties from our site very well.  I'll have to have words next time I see him. Surely he can expand his repertiore from just chasing innocent owner builders around.

Tom & Captain Najork I think you should forget trying to get Natasha to dress as Catwoman - Aunt Bundlejoy Cosysweet would be much nicer.
