I am having a day of rest today. Hard to do, as I love being out there building with Peter, but I rolled my ankle yesterday and I think my body is trying to tell me something. We’re on the home stretch with the floor, and we got heaps of preparation done and insulation laid yesterday when it wasn’t as windy. So this afternoon Peter has been able to get heaps of flooring on. Yay!
Yesterday a friend reminded me to enjoy the process, (thanks Cindy) as
it could all burn down tomorrow. A great reminder. I still can’t
believe how many native animals have been killed, how many houses have
been lost and how many beautiful people have perished in these fires.
A time to be thankful, that is for sure.
I’ve been reading up on our next steps, and we’re very excited about
how the house is shaping up. Peter is going to see Brian (our building
consultant) tomorrow to get the low-down on exactly what to do next…..
very soon we will be seeing the internal frame of the house, the size
and shape of the rooms, and the look of the roof-line. Unreal. Meanwhile it’s time to rest, take stock and be thankful.
