Back into building today and guess what, it was really windy! Fortunately I had Ivan arriving mid morning to speed the process up and it's been another satisfying day. The whole southern section of ring beam has gone up now and this is where most angled joins are so it's nice to have done them well and to see how all of our apparently totally random post heights make a lot of sense. It's more like art than building sometimes, at least that's Ivan's opinion. I don't know what it is, so it must be art.
Another exciting thing is that twice today we had to stop for rain, the showers only lasted about 2 minutes each but even so it's the first time I've seen the floor properly wet. However, with the wind blowing hard it stayed wet for about 5 more minutes and then it was back to normal.
I found out today that our timber for the internal framing is not due until after the weekend, so that will slow down our progress, especially as I have more fantastic help coming to lend a hand, and they'll need things to do. I need to think about what there is to keep the project moving and use extra hands most effectively, or magically get the timber to arrive sooner. Where will we be when the weekend ends? What can we achieve?
