Well it's been an interesting couple of days. We are learning some pretty hard lessons! Peter's Christmas/birthday present (a nail gun from his family), is not working, which gets a little complicated with overseas warranties... just when we need it the most....And we broke one of our golden rules (always put things in writing) when a big expensive load of timber was delivered today, the wrong size - this has meant that we have spent 25% more than we needed to, and will have to spend more time and money correcting it, and have used more precious timber than we had to.
This process is teaching us to get over our upsets and dramas pretty
quickly. We keep reminding ourselves that we are learning so much so
quickly, and that we will make mistakes. Self-forgiveness is a must!
On the up-side, we have started to get some joists on, and it is
very exciting to start to see things taking shape. We have had such
beautiful weather, perfect for building, and we know the stinking hot
weather is coming. We still have to pinch ourselves that this really is
us building our house with our very own hands (which incedentally are
looking and feeling very different these days).
So it's literally onwards and upwards.
