It's been an exciting week with the arrival of our water tank and the connection of the stormwater to the tank. We've even had a tiny bit of rain to christen the new tank. It's great to know that the roof is finished and that we can harvest any rainfall that comes our way now.Tank_crane.jpg

After a fun start to our internal walls we had to put the brakes on so that we can get the electrical work done. Any work we do with internal walls that we do before that will have to partially redone, so it's best to wait until next week when the electrical work starts. In the meantime there are many other things still to do, such as completing the exterior walls and getting on with the decking.

We've been getting more quotes for windows to see whether all of the prices are the same and to find out if anyone can give us frames that don't come from Canada or some Indonesian rainforest. It looks positive on both fronts. It really does pay to get as many quotes as possible when it comes to the really expensive stuff.  And windows are expensive.

This afternoon I had help with some strapping and tensioning of the west gable end from Peter. It's been the double Peter show! It's great to have some engaging company on the build, I get quite used to my own company. Although I do find myself quite engaging most of time, I am rather predictable. We've also set next weekend (12th and 13th) as days to launch back into internal walls, with any extra sets of hands we can muster. If it all goes well we will be able to get into rendering this month.
