Bottom_Boxing.jpgAction week!  We had two deliveries of great news. First of all we heard from our Building Surveyors that our building inspection has been officially passed, and what a relief that is. Everything is done to the satisfaction of the people who matter in this case. Secondly we have the go-ahead to proceed with the roofing from the council after having to put through an amendment. So I still need to work out exactly how to put our fascia together, but that is all that stops us getting a roof on.  But it gets even more exciting.

Today is the day we start putting up our walls! We had a day of help from Cam and Leora yesterday getting the bottom boxing ready, it's still not finished though! We will have to concentrate on certain sections of the house at a time over the weekend as we get all the components for the wall ready for construction. We expect about 10 people today to help us out although it won't be a purists "nothing but bales" day. There is a lot of timber cutting and measuring that will go on at the same time.

When our bales arrived on Thursday we had 10mm of rain the night before, which is funny considering we almost never get rain and it turns up when we least need it. Well actually it wasn't so bad. 550 bales arrived and it took us less than 3 hours to offload them. We had Brenton helping us out and a good thing too, as it would have taken a lot longer had he not been there. It was a really fun day, hard work though! So they're all sitting there, stacked high covered in plastic to protect them from the weather, ready to go. And so are we.
