I am reminded of a Little River Band song "It's a long way there, it's a long way to where I'm goin...". For no particular reason, this week has felt like a long road. Though things are humming along well, I have felt quite dispondent about the house building and our progress... maybe it's a phase owner-builders go through when they are finally over the big humps, when most of the work is done and things are on the home stretch. Feels like that anyway.
Peter has been up a very high ladder again, getting the fascia on and getting cross with the extension ladder (maybe they had a nasty altercation in a previous life-time). Yesterday and today I have been fixing walls (taking bits off the end as they are hanging over a bit), building new ones, and compressing some of the other walls (intermediate compression, more bales to go on top, then top boxing and additional compression to finish it off). So it's coming along, and we can see some of the views we are going to have through the windows - are they are divine.
Even better, we have some visitors tomorrow, including my sister Katrina, niece Claire, nephew Ethan, Nicole and her kids, and maybe some friends and kids of Katrinas. I'm sure we'll get heaps done tomorrow, and their company will surely buoy us up and remind us of how far we have already come, and of this amazing journey we are on.
