Roof on! I'm very excited about this. And then we get our straw bales delivered! In order to do this we'll need to clear some room for the truck to get close to the house. Currently there are piles of rocks and dirt everywhere around the house and there is no easy way to access the building. So we may have to spend a bit of money getting someone in to do some shifting around of rubble. It will be great to get all of these mini mountains out of the way, I'm tired of dodging them and tripping over them. Once the bales are here we'll construct the bottom boxing for the bale walls and we'll be pretty much ready to go, except for some framing for exterior doors and windows.

Apparently a roof and walls are good attributes for a house to have. After all the work we've done, we're nearly there.

Yesterday was the perfect building day, still, blue sky and a good day to be monkeying around on the rafters. Special guest stars for the day were: about 40 kangaroos on the lot next door, several crimson rosellas who came and hung out with me on the rafters, wedgetailed eagles soaring and diving directly above and a distant kookaburra heard off in the forest who then came and sat on the east side of our roof line. It's a great view from there. Long may our feathered friends continue to visit.
