I'm starting to ramp up on my building days again as I've got fewer days to work in the city. With Ivan to help me I had Friday to get back in the swing of things. It was a delayed start due to drizzly rain and when we got out there the floor was all quite wet.
Inevitably when walking on to the job from muddy ground the floor gets quite messy and yet again, markings made previously get obliterated. Fortunately we have the bulk of the walls up now so there are more reference points to go from and remarking is not so hard as before. We put up the wall to bedroom 2 today, which somehow didn't quite fit against the wardrobe walls which weren't quite level, so it took some time to straighten these up. Then drizzle set in for a while longer, and although there are some things we could do in the rain, operating electric power tools is not one of them. So when we came back we constructed and put up the last wall for the office. With all these walls up now, access is as issue and we can't just walk around any old place we like. We'll have to get on to the job through what will be the back door now! Not as many walls up today as I had hoped, but the pile of walls still to go looks much smaller. The internal framing phase of the job doesn't seem too far from completion. That's good, I'm dreaming of having a roof on. But before that - veranda posts, bearers and beams, then rafters and purlins. How exciting!
