We've been taking things a bit easier on the building front since we moved in about a month ago. But that doesn't mean we've been doing nothing. I've been lucky enough to get some work as soon as we moved in and I have been working from home more most of the time. It's a perfect way to enjoy the house that we are finally living in and to spend some good time with Dylan and Natasha. This house really seems to suit the three of us, beautifully serene, stunning sunrises and clouds and it's really nice when it rains. There's a special feeling about being nice and dry when the weather outside is not nice, especially when we've constructed the shelter ourselves.3_months_old_02.jpg

Seeing the way the light falls on the walls at different times of the day and the way it changes from week to week is fantastic, now that I have time to look at these things. However I've been getting a bit nervous about all the work that I know we still have to do to pass our full inspection. So this weekend we sat down for an hour and worked out what has to be done. The good news is that it's all do-able in the time scale we have. It is possible to get a good amount done on the weekend, as we showed 2 weeks ago when we rendered bedroom 2 internally and got it ready for habitation. Brenda cleaned up the mess I had made while I was off at the Grand Prix and appropriately she was the first to stay in there a week later. A real guest room! Now if we can only get our hot water working properly then we'll be super hospitable!

1. What a great photo!
Young nephew Dylan has the brightest little face. Clearly a happy little chappie. I can't wait to see what stands on the land that was previously just a sparse rocky paddock near the bush.
