Sometimes we can't quite get ourselves out of the dark tunnel called "will this ever be over?". Just when we think it's in the bag, it's not. We realised that we were supposed to have our composting toilet approved by Council before we started using it (woops) and that we need their approval (in wiriting) before we can get our certificate of occupancy. The toilet inspection went well, but then we heard the dreaded words "But attaching_more_fascia.jpgit normally takes 2 weeks to get officially approved". With some negotiating, it looks like we will get it by the end of this week....however, our official approval paper work from the plumber (which the Council need to approve it) has gone 'missing' in the mail so we are a bit stuck.

At the same time, we haven't finished our stuff either. We have the cement sheeting to go up outside against the ply/fascia in between the top windows, we have a few more battens to go on the ceiling, and some more sealing along the inside celestory windows. And then there is the cob and rendering on the outside. Patience, patience!

At least we have a few days of cool weather to keep us sane, and mum is here working like a maniac helping me pack, cleaning the straw bale house and generally being an absolute legend of ideas and problem-solving. On a positive front, we found some near-new curtains for our bedroom from my favourite op-shop, and our stairs were delivered and installed yesterday, wooohooo!

Stay tuned, we will be letting everyone know when we do get our C of O. Until then, patience is required!

1. Beards
You can't really take a man with face fungus seriously anyway.

2. And!
Might I add that it would seem that the plumber himself would seem to have gone missing ... either that or he's lost his phone somewhere in his beard.
