Rainbow.jpgWe made it. We have received our C of O and without any delay we've moved on in. It's starting to dawn on me that we are actually living in a house that we own and built. Living here for a few days has given me the chance to see the house as a home and not just as a series of problems to be solved. It's a wonderfully restful place to be. We've had great sleeps since moving in and Dylan is sleeping longer than ever which is allowing us to recharge some long depleted batteries.

We got our Certificate of Occupancy on Friday and had moved in and handed in our keys by the end of the day. Thanks to lots of pre-packing by Natasha and Brenda we were ready to move and now it's a question of getting to some of the many boxes and finding things.

For our first few days living at the house we were greeted by about 70mm of rain. The house is a lovely place to be when the weather outside is nasty. Not everything is turning out to be perfect though, as our solar hot water system is not functioning very well and after spending way too much time and money on it it is still not delivering. Maybe it will make a nice garden feature.

We've had very little time to sit at the computer so blogging has come late, but there is still plenty to come as we start to formulate a plan to get fully completed by October, our permit cut-off date. Having said that, it's hard to imagine returning to full time building too soon. We're taking a short breather!

Some people talk about "Any port in a storm". Your house has proved to be an exceptional port in a spectacular storm. It is a huge credit to you both that you have achieved so much and made your dream a reality. Thank you so much for allowing us to share it with you. The storm, the kangaroos and of course little Dylan made our stay truly memorable and of course your wonderful hospitality. Thank you both so much.
