We were very fortunate to have some rendering assistance this weekend, as well as some great weather, and we are very pleased to have the north external wall now fully rendered. It looks fantastic. We were joined yesterday by some lovely new faces, Steve and Caroline, who found us via this website. They were very enthusiastic and as keen straw balers, had a lot to offer and many questions for us! They were very satisfied (as were we) by the results at the end of the day.
Then today we had another visit from our fabulous friend Logan, who along
with Peter (and a little from me, yaaaayy!) finished the rest of the wall. It’s
the wall we see the most, as it is the entrance to the house at the moment, and has the beautiful deck on it, so we are looking
forward to seeing it when it dries.
We also had a visit this weekend from Tiki from ATA and Sustainable
House Day (SHD). We are extremely excited to be part of this year’s SHD and
are putting together a great team to help us on the day. Given that our
house is still under construction, Tiki thinks the house will generate
a great deal of interest and receive a lot of visitors on the day
(Sunday 12th September).
We have made a list of things that we want to get completed
before the SHD, and this weekend has put us right on track. Next
weekend we hope to get the vast majority of the south external wall
rendered, and then we will be on to other internal rendering.
Onwards and upwards!
