It feels soooo good to have made some progress on the house over the last few weeks! We have been ticking things off our list, feeling very happy indeed.

We have now finished all the rendering on the outside of the house, which is very very satisfying, and all the rendering is done on the inside except for the main bathroom. We have also installed some more fly screens on our windows, which is creating beautiful breezes through the house, and divine night sounds. It has really transformed the feeling inside during the warmer weather. Flies and mozzies are plentiful here, so we have not had the windows open much, which makes the house quite stuffy and hot. But those days are now a distant memory. 

Peter has been working really hard, sometimes in quite warm conditions and Dylan and I have been his cheer squad. He has really enjoyed getting stuck into the work, and he is very excited about starting the deck on the weekend. Having the south (or front) deck complete will mean that we can use our front door, and will have a beautiful area outside to enjoy the cooling southerly breeze.

So after some down time and relaxing, this action on the house building front is feeling very rewarding and almost addictive (a familiar feeling from days of old when we were building in 2008/2009!). Our next aims are to complete the deck, and get on to our bathroom, which is calling out to be done, poor neglected room it has been. Ahhhh, I am just imagining sitting in the bath in our newly completed bathroom looking at the forest. Divine. All the motivation we need!
