Time is a funny thing. In some ways it seems not long ago that we first set out on our house-building quest, full of enthusiasm and blind faith. In other ways it seems like a great deal of time has passed! So much has happened, we've been through many emotions (multiple times) made endless decisions and mistakes, and met heaps of fantastic people... and then there is having our beautiful son Dylan. So at our two year mark, we have many things to smile about.
It feels like we've been living here in our beautiful house for a very long time - I guess that comes from feeling so at home here, having put so much of our selves into building it, as well as dreaming about it. Needless to say, we absolutely love this place. This spectacular piece of land, its sky, its sun sets and sun rises, its sounds, smells, colours, seasons and feel. In fact this time 8 months ago we were putting the finishing touches on the house, nervously awaiting our inspection. Those were the days!
A few days ago Peter did a plan of the things we have left to do and we are feeling good about our steady pace getting things done, and keeping a balance of working, playing, and building. We've got a busy period from now until Christmas, with some sound work for Peter and my part-time environmental work keeping us busy 6 days a week, but we're very happy to be doing it and earning some more casharama.
The rain keeps coming, the grass and weeds keep growing, our vegie patch keeps shooting new seedlings, and we are looking forward to experiencing Spring and Summer in our home. Smiles all round.
