Well it would seem we have fallen off the wagon of late. No blogs and no new photos, but thankfully there has been some action on the building front, phew! Peter has been getting our recycled decking timber ready and stained, as we are keen to get the South deck done. Then we will be able to use our front door, yay! This was helped greatly by a visit from Aygun, who is always keen to hang out with us and get into some physical work. Aygun__Peter_03.jpg

The last month I have had my 'head down, bum up' working in my environmental job (GFA) , and we are now on holidays, recharging our batteries in our beloved Port Fairy with family and friends. It's a perfect time to catch up, re-energise and get some added perspective on finishing the house.

I have a confession - I have been a full-blown procrastinator when it comes to planning our land/garden layout. I have a great permaculture book, and have read lots of it, but succumbed to my "gotta get it right" thoughts, which has meant pretty much  nothing has been planted (apart from our gang-busters vegie patch). Well, enough of that! By the end of this holiday we will have a plan and we will get into action in early 2011.

Our other strategy to get some more work done on the house, is for Peter to stop any paid work in January, so he can get a good run doing work on the house. During this time I will work 3+ days a week to keep us going and get into some research on getting our bathroom finished (ie e-bay searches!).

We have been very lucky duckies and received a fabulous weather station from Peter's sister Belinda (and family), and now we just need to be home to be able track the weather inside and outside, to see how the house performs. I will also be updating the website and putting in some new sections. If you have any ideas or requests, please let me know by emailing us.

So at the end of a very eventful year, we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to us and our beautiful home, and wish you all a fabulous 2011 filled with love, joy and adventure.
