Well things are moving! Dylan has begun to make some little steps, and Peter has finished making his first set of steps, wooohooo! The north (back) steps we had built by a local tradesperson way back in Feb last year when we were in a rush to get our certificate of occupancy, so Peter had a great set of stairs to help guide him on how to build them. Nevertheless it took a fair bit of calculating angles and other 'stuff' to get it happening. Stairs.jpg

So after a day and a bit, the stairs are now in place and we are very much enjoying using them, and using our front door! Peter is understandably chuffed at his accomplishment, and along with the deck, it looks fantastic.

We were also lucky to have a visit from Ari (Peter got heaps of experience helping on her build before we started building) and Dean, along with their daughter Issy and friend from New York, Olga. We had a great afternoon yacking, and Dean and Olga got stuck into applying some fabulous you beaut mineral silica to our rendered walls. This amazing stuff will ensure we don't receive any more scratches or bumps to our render, and will seal up the render on our outside walls, particularly on the west end which cops the severe weather - namely gale force winds and horizonal rain. This is the area of wall that has literally started to wash away.

So next on our list, getting our second composting toilet in, and installing some of our second hand ebay doors and cupboard doors. Fabulous!

Great to see the front steps in place. Well done Pete. They will enable you to use the house in a different way now you have front door access - fabulous. Dylan will be just about running by the time we see him at his present rate of progress. Time can't come soon enough.
