This must be the longest 'in between blogs' time on record.... I think in part because we don't have much to report on! We've both been working part-time, and Sundays have started to become our only day where we are both off from work, and this time we have been designating as 'family time'. As a result, not much building has been happening. roo_from_window.jpg

Now that the weather has been getting warmer, we have been noting with interest, the performance of the house. How cool is it keeping in the heat, I hear you ask. Well at the moment we don't have a reliable weather thingymijig, so I can't tell you with any accuracy... but this weather station thing is now high on our list of things to buy. We need to be able to see the temperature inside compared to outside, and also how quickly the house cools down/heats up when we open our louvre and celestory windows.

Once we have some data to share, I will set up a new section on the website and you can have a squizz. Exciting stuff! The next thing we need to do is build some fly wire screens for our louvre windows so that we don't get eaten alive by mozzies and can keep the black buzzy flies out of the house. Another thing louvre windows are great for, is letting out flies very quickly and easily. Fabbo.

We are very much in appreciation mode at the moment, the smells, sounds and views day and night, and of course, watching the weather roll by. We recently got a reminder from the local council to slash our very high grass - and with summer upon us, we need to get our fire plan in order and clean up the place - all this rain is certainly helping the land sprout even longer weeds and grasses, as well as our vegie patch which is looking very happy indeed. And so are we.

Could I put in a plea for you to consider a weather station that includes a webcam and its own IP address so you can put a 'what does it look/feel like right now' page on your site for distant family and friends?
