At last, a tidy up! PDF Print E-mail

We could not stand it any longer. The time had come to do something about the unholy mess in front of our house - timber off-cuts, scrap metal, bales of straw, polythene, and all kinds of other stuff. So a trip to the tip was in order, a with a ute tray full of things that have been cluttering our view since we moved in.start_of_clean_up_16_May.jpg end_of_17th_May.jpg

It felt great to get stuck into all the mess and although I was dreading doing this, it doesn't seem so bad now that I've commenced the process. I sold some of our better quality left-over straw bales and reorganised the rest further away from the house in one tidy pile. I can see the ground again!

Apart from bugging us, the materials had to be dealt with to clear the path for a driveway. When laid down it will remove any chance of being bogged down and stranded in bad weather at worst, or at best having to resort to some rally driving. So that's even better, we're killing two birds with one stone. I must report however that a large ecosystem of slaters, spiders, mice, millipedes and worms has been destroyed. Is that called collateral damage?

That is something we could have done when we were over stayinhg with you if only we'd had a bit more time. It will make a huge difference to Dylan's view and the kangaroos will no doubt be happy as well.
